Dr. Ben Damiani, co-founder and Chief Scientist at Solar Inventions was invited to speak as part of PV Magazine’s annual roundtable event: Solar opportunities in an age of extremes.

He was part of a panel titled, “How large-format modules are driving design changes“.

Large-format modules increasingly are being specified and their use is driving a host of design issues and equipment specification options. Meanwhile, an underlying challenge is to ensure that critical mechanical structures including tracker systems, as well as electrical BoS connections, are implemented safely and cost-effectively.

Questions to be addressed include:

How is large format module utilization leading to changes across the solar value chain?

What design paradigms had to alter or adapt due to the change of module size?

What balance of system challenges are emerging as large-format modules gain market share?
